Instructions of installing Champs Elysees stretch ceiling
Composition of Champs Elysees stretch ceiling: underframe, rail and membrane.
1. Setup of underframe: (Generally, we are responsible for the setup of underframe and instructive assistance.)
a. Setup of the underframe of rail for wall
Rail for wall is 2.5 cm wide and 1.8 cm tall. Its wide side connects with the underframe. If you use timber to setup the underframe, the timber should be 2.5cm wide and 3cm tall. You can use self-tapping screws to fasten the rail and underframe. If you use square pipe, its dimension should be 25*25 generally. Both the timber and square pipe should be fastened onto the concrete wall, making them tighten enough not to fall. Above is the setup of underframe of plane ceiling. If you want to make an abnormal ceiling, you should make the underframe come into an abnormal direction in the position where you install the rail for wall. Rail for wall must be installed on the edge only.
b. Setup of the underframe of rail for ceiling
Rail for ceiling is 1cm wide and 3.2cm tall. Its tall side connects with the underframe. If the wall is made of wooden splint, then you can use the rail for ceiling to fasten directly. It’s not necessary to make an underframe of rail for wall. But the position to which the rail for ceiling is fastened should be wooden splint or hollow square pipe.
c. Setup of the underframe of wall separator
Wall separator is 4cm wide and 1.8cm tall. Its wide side connects with the underframe. If you use timber to setup the underframe, the timber should be 4cm wide and at least 1cm thick. If you use square pipe, its dimension should be 35*25. The 35 side and 4cm side of wall separator should be tightened together using rivets. Wall separator can be used to connect the two membranes and make abnormity. So its underframe should be made into the relevant abnormity according to the blueprint.
2. Fastening and installing the rail
a. First, fasten the timber onto the concrete wall around, then fasten the rail for wall onto the timber. Note that the timber should be smeared with fireproofing paint. As shown by graph
b. If the wall around is wooden, we can fasten the rail for ceiling onto the wall directly. While installing the rail for ceiling, please note that the space of the screws which fasten the rail for ceiling should not exceed 8cm. Light leaking through edges when concealing lighting tubes inside can be avoided this way. If light leaks through edges of rail for ceiling, you can simply use sealant with the same color to make them airproof.
c. If it is required to conceal lighting tubes inside, the underframe should be smeared with white paint, so the lighting effects will be better. The lamp holder (fluorescent lamp) should be installed on a height that is 15cm far away from the membrane at least. The distance among lamps should be 20cm. The best proportion (distance between lamp and membrane versus distance among lamps) is 1:1.
3. Installing membranes
a. Before installing, please check if the rails, caps, sprayings, air outlets, leftovers, wall and ends can be installed. You should also check if the power cord, thrum and spraying head are packed correctly to avoid damaging the membranes.
b. Installing photic membrane: turn on the lamps concealed inside, check if the light is solid, check if there are chromatic aberrations or not, check if light leaks through edges of rail. Then install the membrane after clearing leftovers. The membrane should avoid contacting with dirt. You must keep the clean through the whole process.
c. Installing membrane: find out the relevant membrane, heat the membrane reasonably using jackhammer or blower to let it expand. The distance should not be too close and the temperature should not be too high in order to avoid damaging the membrane. Install the membrane by its diagonals and points. The edges, position of angle, and the membrane should be smooth. You should joint the slot to adjust into a straight line. Please take care to protect the membrane while installing. Don’t let the membrane touch objects that are sharp or with angles. You should note that the shovel can do harm to the membrane itself. After the shovel props up to the edge, make sure the shovel connects with the slot tightly. When pulling the slot inside at full tilt, it’s more important to keep the strength even. Don’t force too hard, or the shovel will slide out of the edge and may injure yourself or the membrane close by.
d. Membrane is damaged: Use clear stick tape to adhere the split, and then find the membrane with same model to repair it.
4. Post maintenance of the membrane:
If the membrane appeared to be damaged afterwards, we should try our best to repair it, no matter it’s the customer’s fault or our fault. But before repairing, be sure to contact with the representative in the customer’s side, confirm the date and plan of maintaining. Execute maintenance after approved by the customer. After finishing maintenance, you should ask the customer to check in site. If there are any problems, you can resolve it in time.
